Additional Info

American architects and design couple Charles + Ray Eames most rare creation is the Plywood Elephant from the mid 1940s. The sole prototype was shown at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1946 and still survives in the Eames family archive. The designers demonstrated how good design can improve quality of life and human understanding and knowledge with iconic creations such as their Lounge & Ottoman, various chairs, and objects. They are known for the oft-used phrase they coined, "Design is for living."
